Monday, March 26, 2012. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. The base is made from salvaged Douglas Fir, and the top is made with PaperStone, a composite material made from recycled office paper and a resin derived in part from the shells of cashew nuts.
I purchased a book matched pair of mesquite slabs but was not able to get the width I needed for the top without adding an additional slab in the center. Here is the top glued up with the outside edges left in their natural state. Later on I filled the cracks and other defects in the top with black epoxy. Turning the bun feet on the lathe.
